Pre-tin the 3 component leads with solder.
Lay the flex PCB over the pads and solder them one by one. Pre-tinning the flex board pads may help.

Low Battery Blinking LED Mod for GBC / MGB Pocket

With this simple mod once your battery reaches a certain level, the battery indicator LED will start blinking for around 15 seconds every 1 minute. You can set the voltage at which the LED start blinks by shorting out the “Set” solder pads (with tweezers) on the board for 1 second (LED will blink quickly to confirm the change).
The default voltage is set to around 2.05v suitable for rechargeable NiMH AA/AAAs. New GBC version works with LiPos (3.3v default set point). Super easy install, just solder the flex on the back of the PCB near the LED, no trimming or removing parts. Designed and made in Australia.
