There can be various reasons as to why one of our products would be out of stock. It could be a difficult product to make, we are busy making other products or have a bulk order from a client or vendor, lack of demand or parts are hard to obtain.
You can check our build log to see when the product was previously made and how long it was in stock for in order to gauge when it might be available again: https://www.insidegadgets.com/buildlog
Given these reasons, the product out of stock could be classified as a “loss leader”. If we were to make them available all the time, we would be spending too much time on setup, sourcing parts, assembling, etc. The solution is to make the product available once every now and then.
Imagine you had 2 jobs, one pays $10/hr and is very interesting and the other pays $30/hr but isn’t interesting. It wouldn’t make sense to take the $10/hr all the time, maybe every now and then when you want a change.
