Gameboy LinkNLoad32 USB Flash Cart (4MB ROM, 128KB FRAM)

$65.00$67.00 USD

The Gameboy LinkNLoad32 is a flash cart which features a USB-C port so you can re-program it anywhere you go as long as you have a USB cable and a computer. You can also backup and restore your saves too.

Simply use FlashGBX v3.37 to re-flash the cart or backup/restore saves which works with Windows, Linux and Mac. Designed and made in Australia.

This is perfect for LSDJ users who want a low power cart (~12mA, running LSDJ consumes a bit more power) with 128KB of FRAM which means no more batteries! Works with regular MBC5 games too and GB Studio MBC5 with saving if you wish to develop your own game.

Shell trimming is required for the USB-C connector. A generic clear cart shell is included separately. Looking for higher quality cart shells? Check our generic DMG or GBC high quality cart shell listings.

For Windows – How to re-flash the cart or backup/restore saves
Download LinkNLoad32 GUI v1.1, it’s similar to the GBxCart GUI. To flash a ROM, select Write ROM which will ask you for the ROM file and then prompt you to confirm.

For Linux/Mac – How to re-flash the cart or backup/restore saves
Download Console Interface v1.30 (for saves) or LinkNLoad32_Flasher_v1.1 (to re-flash)
Follow the instructions for the Console Interface

Normal USB operation method (as of 9 August 2020)
When plugged into your PC, the LED on the board will light up which means it ready to connect. When inserted into a Gameboy, the LED will light up but then turn off after half a second.

Old USB operation method (before 9 August 2020)
The LED on the board will blink when the device is plugged into a USB port if a USB signal is detected within 3 seconds. This means if you plug it in before the CH340 driver is installed correctly or before the operating system has booted, the LED won’t blink and thus you won’t be able to communicate with the cart. This is to reduce power consumption of the cart when in use in a Gameboy.
