A batteryless mod for the original DS which allows you to run your DS Lite from the charging port without a battery. Useful if you have lots of original DS to run them all off a battery bank. The downside is that it won’t keep your settings so if you want quick boot into a GBA game, you’ll have to launch slot-2 from an M3/R4 or similar.

Installation steps
Take apart your original DS and pre-tin these 4 pads near the top left with solder.
Align the flex board and solder all 4 pads. You can use tape or blu-tac to hold it in place.
If you want to switch back to using a battery, simply un-bridge this pad.
