Works with GB Studio v1.1.0+ with saving if you wish to develop your own game. Check this list of Gameboy games to see the ROM/RAM size and MBC type your game will have, you would be looking for MBC5 games but most MBC3 games should work.
MBC1 games that won’t work: Any that needs more than 8KB RAM or more than 1MB of ROM. Games must be flashed on MBC5 mode first.
– Allows for a custom boot logo which takes 16KB, if your game takes up the full 512KB flash, the last 16KB bank will be overwritten. The custom boot logo works on the DMG, Pocket, GBC (05, 03) and GBA 40pin (CPU AGB). The original boot logo will appear on all other devices. Note: If you power off and power on the GB too quickly, the custom boot logo might not be displayed. Seems to affect the DMG the most. Doesn’t boot at all on the Analogue Pocket if the custom boot logo is enabled.
– Allows for 8KB RAM locking useful for MBC1 games like Donkey Kong Country 3.
– Allows for MBC1 ROM banking – requests for bank 0 gives bank 1, useful for games like the original Zelda – Link’s Awakening.
– Allows for MBC1 1MB ROM mode for hacks like Metroid 2 Colourised
This cart works on every Gameboy system – GB, MGB, GBC, GBA, GBA SP and the Game Boy Player. It works on the aPocket but if you enable the custom boot logo, it will show an error. It should work on the N64 transfer pack for Pokemon Stadium. Games that require more than 1MB of ROM won’t work.
Comes in a generic Gameboy cartridge. Each unit is assembled in house and is tested on a Gameboy Advance.
