Gamecube Internal Wireless RX Flex Board

$26.00 USD

As an extension to the Wireless Gameboy/GBA Controller project, this Gamecube internal receiver flex allows you to control your Gamecube wirelessly. The flex PCB is delicate so please be gently and careful when handling and soldering. Installation steps below along with persistent key mapping. Designed and made in Australia.

You can use external Gamecube controllers as long as you don’t have any transmitter carts powered up and you can switch between them – wait about 5-6 seconds after powering the transmitter cart off.

You will need a transmitter to get started if you don’t have one already. You can have multiple receivers per transmitter and you can use the same receiver for different wireless controllers. You can continue to play the handheld as normal too if you wish. Only works with our transmitters (GB, GBA or DS).

Description

Open up your Gamecube and place the flex board over the first controller’s pins. The pins should fit inside the holes. If they don’t, you can clip the pins and solder it on top that way.

Use some kapton tape or masking tape over the wireless module to hold it in place over the PCB. Power up the Gamecube and check that it’s working.

When putting the Gamecube back together, place the top shell slowly so the wireless module doesn’t hit the shell’s edge, you may need to guide the module with some tweezers.

Key mappings
The key mappings are persistent even after power cycling. Hold L&R trigger and B for 5 seconds to reset mappings to default.
